My #FavouriteThing today was teaching my theory workshop. Yesterday and today both went really well, and by the end of the day, everyone was reading simple (and some not-so-simple!) 8 bar ditties, and transcribing simple melodies. I felt so proud of everyone!

In addition to my adult students, Kid #3 took the course this weekend. And she rocked out on her music theory right along everyone else. Now, she is super musical, and more musically intuitive than your typical 12 year old, granted. But I was pretty proud of her for keeping up with everyone and totally holding her own in a course that was geared to adult learning, not kid learning. And being able to sight sign by the end of it, right along with everyone else.

And when we got home, Kid #3 was super stoked to go borrow a basic flute book from our neighbour. She sat down with my old flute and began to teach herself flute. She is sonestaits right. Ow trying to figure out how to finger each notes required to play the given melody. And she gets it…by herself.

And when we came home, we were invited over to the neighbours’ for a Grey Cup party. And we proceeded to eat until we were bursting at the seams. So. Freaking. Fun!

It was a very satisfying, if exhausting, weekend. What was your favourite thing today?
