My #FavouriteThing today was hanging out with my brother. We just hung out together for awhile, and then went to dinner with another friend of his. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen him, so I was happy to spend time with him.
I also really enjoyed a text conversation with a friend. It’s pretty amazing when people see you more clearly than you see yourself, and they are able to lovingly and supportively push you towards taking care of yourself. In return, I hope I can be just as supportive and insightful a friend right back. Because that’s how it rolls in my world…full circle.
I was happy to get a bunch of stuff done today that I’ve needed to do for some time. I did not get to the main project I’d intended, but I’ve decided I have to actually leave my house and set myself to work on that project. Apparently I find a lot of other things to do that take priority over writing when I try to work from home…
What was your favourite thing today?
My favourite thing was be woken by a phone call from my brother. Since being reunited, we text frequently, but rarely do we actually hear each other’s voices. He just wanted to check on me, again. He’s texted me every day to check on me, but he was driving. was a great way to wake up.
Another favourite thing was going outside for a little bit. The three of us just sat out in the yard for a little bit, and later I read a couple chapters of my book. It was nice to enjoy a summer afternoon outdoors even for a short time.
After supper, a couple of our friends stopped in. We caught up on our latest life events and reminisced about summers past before they went on their way- my husband with them. This is the weekend our group of usual suspects has their summer party. I will miss the pool and hot tub and Jell-O shot action, but that’s just out of the question. It’s okay though because my absence has lead to plans for another, smaller, get together later this summer! Yay!
