My #FavouriteThing today was reading. Reading and painkillers. And naps. And eggs.

I am in a lot of pain today after yesterday’s run. Not unexpected. On a good day, I could run 5K and I’d feel it, but I’d be ok. But I was in the middle of a fibro-flare and chose to try and do the Color Me Rad Run yesterday anyway. I knew I’d pay for it. But it was a bit of an experiment to see what the fallout would be. Today was not a pleasant fallout day, anywhere in my body. And I still can’t bear weight on my left foot due to the mysterious foot bruise and pain that appeared and is super awesome. My back hurts, my ribs hurt, my skin all over my abdomen and arms hurts, my neck hurts, and my scalp hurts. And if it sounds like I’m complaining, let me be clear: I am not. I chose to do the run knowing there would be consequences. So I am choosing to go through my consequences with curiosity and happiness…and I feel good that I did it anyway.

All of that is a long-winded way of saying that I’m very grateful for painkillers right now. Very. Grateful. And although I had wanted to spend the day writing today, between pain and painkillers, I simply couldn’t focus enough. So I was happy to have a good book series that I’m enjoying at Kid #1’s urging.

The combo of the pain and the painkillers also knocked me out for a while, and I slept for several extra hours this afternoon. Sunday naps are good, right?

And finally, eggs. I just really enjoyed eating my eggs today. I eat my eggs fried, but I break the yolk. I use coconut oil in the pan, and I use vanilla infused salt liberally. And they are so good, I very nearly made them twice today.
